She announces in front of a crowd at a wedding he is covering that she is in love with him. But Jane floats around like a fairy with such joy and whimsy, I can't help but love it. Unfortunately, we can't see what this dress really looks like — but from what we can see, it's kind of fine? I mean, a spiked choker is not what many of us would pick for our wedding, but Jane looks pretty hot. The dress itself is not bad at all — I think the layered skirt is kind of nice — but the hat! Contrary to some of the other dresses, this dress is peak 2008.

For me, what really made this movie was the performances. Katherine Heigl did an absolutely fantastic job playing the woman that I'm sure everyone has felt like at one time. She brought a lot of spice to what could have been a one-note role.

As Kevin says in the movie, the theme of this dress seems to be "humiliation." Fun for a costume party, maybe, but not much else. BuzzFeed As IsSomething for everyone interested in hair, makeup, style, and body positivity. Disappointing would-be romantic comedy with innuendo. How anyone could swap Jane for Tess is a serious mystery -- just one of a number of 27 DRESSES' irritating, albeit small, flaws. On the other hand, there are some rewards -- like Judy Greer, who plays Casey, Jane's saucy, witty best friend. The movie also benefits from director Anne Fletcher's light-and-easy style (thankfully, she doesn't take the subject matter seriously) and, more importantly, the Heigl's effervescence.
