Grilled Chicken Southwest Salad With BBQ Ranch Dressing

In a small bowl mix together the mayo, sour cream, barbecue sauce, and ranch seasoning mix. I find many ranch dressing sauces to be a little overpowering, perhaps a little too fatty, and a little too zesty. It’s good at complementing in the most subtle way, enhancing food flavor without taking anything away or overpowering it. I first tried it at Dinosaur BBQ in Buffalo, NY and loved it.

DOLE BBQ RANCH DRESSING RECIPE RECIPES

Three corn tortillas stuffed w/fried fish or grilled fish, cabbage, cilantro, chipotle-white sauce & pico de gallo. Your choice of traditional spicy buffalo, BBQ, honey-sriracha or teriyaki. Served w/carrots, celery & ranch dressing. Thousand Island dressing, cheddar, lettuce, pickles, onion & tomato.

I didn't cook these o the grill but these are amazingly delicious. The ingredients in this recipe don't stand up well to freezing. Simply cook the corn, place the stripper blade side down over the cob, inside a bowl and press the kernels off the cob. Continue to grill the chicken over indirect heat with the lid closed. This will help maintain a constant temperature, about 300 degrees for about 35 to 40 minutes until done . Remove chicken from the grill and allow to rest at least 5 minutes, before cutting into bite-sized pieces.

Whether it is a burger you made yourself, or you chose to get one delivered to you, this sauce will work perfectly inside it. Whether you’ve added too much milk, or you just prefer a thicker consistency, stir an extra spoonful or two of mayonnaise until it’s as thick as you’d like. Great tossed with greens, tomatoes, corn, avacado, and black beans.

Add the remaining ingredients and whisk until smooth. Taste and add more barbecue sauce if desired and season with salt and pepper. Place the chopped romaine lettuce on the bottom of a salad bowl or plate.

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and whisk well. Store in the refrigerator for up to one week. Homemade dressing doesn't have a vinegar twang to it either.

When making this salad, I like having leftovers for another day. I only use one avocado at a time and keep all the ingredients separate, until needed. Semi-Homemade BBQ Ranch Dressing

No tools required beyond a bowl and a spoon or whisk to emulsify it in the dressing. Made half a cup for sauce on a Southwestern Chicken flatbread. Used Recipe #71609 for the Black Bean hummus, with homemade flatbread. In a medium bowl, whisk together all ingredients.

To make BBQ ranch dressing you will have to adjust the amount of milk. If you only have skim or whole on hand, those will work, but result in a thinner or richer dressing. Place all ingredients into a mixing bowl and whisk until evenly blended. While you are not going to be dipping your burger in the sauce, the sauce can certainly be used inside the burger.

Hot Off the Grill

Crumble the cooled bacon into a bowl and set aside. Ramp up the heat by adding red pepper flakes, to taste. I recommend starting with a quarter teaspoon. Applewood smoked bacon, cheddar, jack, lettuce, tomato & mayo, served on an Islands white or whole wheat bun.
